This is exactly why I carry a camera with me at all times. On my walk home across Boston Common today I spied a juvenile Cooper’s Hawk, and made a few photos while he/she ate a pigeon in the snow near Tremont Street.
The meal began just before I arrived on the scene.
Oh he’s looking at me.
Mmm, pigeon innards.
He’s looking at me again. It was hard to get a profile shot because he turned as I circled.
Showing off some plumage or reaching to get feathers out of his mouth.
And finally, the Derp face.
I don’t know if you heard but we had a hell of a blizzard the other day. Here are a few pics we made on Saturday morning once the flakes stopped falling. Boston without traffic is a wonderful thing.
